Early Life and Education
Venkatakrishnan pursued a Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology from Bharathidasan University, followed by a Master’s in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Arkansas, and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He specialized in Marketing Analytics and Strategy, and was active in various clubs and centers at Booth, including being Co-Chair of the Marketing Club.
Career
Starting at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Merck as a bench top chemist and validation analyst, Venkatakrishnan advanced to become a Labware LIMS admin. At PerkinElmer, he led groundbreaking projects like the world’s first class III human challenge chamber for Merck Consumer Care. Later, at Bayer Consumer Care, he led the development and launch of several Class II and III medical devices, enhancing digital integration and customer ecosystem management, which significantly improved targeting efficiency.
In 2019, as an Engagement Manager and Healthcare Lead at Mu Sigma Inc, he managed analytics solutions that resulted in substantial revenue growth. He started the Software as a Medical Device Vertical at Compliance Group Inc, where he developed a hybrid agile-waterfall SDLC tailored for regulated systems. His stint at Amazon UK involved leading AI-driven projects that enhanced both customer and healthcare services.

Venkatakrishnan has had more than 17 years understanding, deciphering userneeds and converting them into actionable requirements. He has worked with C-Level executives as well as analysts and scientists, easily conversing in their native tongue. An early adopter of advanced technology, he launched his first FDA regulated ML product in 2008. Venkatakrishnan has had experience building and leading teams in US, UK, India and Canada. He also has a deep understanding of the healthcare systems, R&D ecology and legal and regulatory environments of the EU, UK, US, Canada and India.

Venkatakrishnan currently consults for startups and scale up companies in London, helping them align their product strategies with industry compliance standards, especially in gen AI technologies.
